We are deeply saddened by the passing of Isaac Hayes and Bernie Mac. Both gentlemen were truly unique and very talented and the world will miss them. All the best to their families and friends.

1976 - Keith Moon, drummer for Who, collapses and is hospitalized in Miami
1981 - No. 1 Billboard Pop Hit: ``Endless Love,'' Diana Ross & Lionel Richie. The song holds onto the top spot for nine weeks, making it the most successful duo, most successful Motown single and most successful soundtrack single of all time.
1997 - Four Elvis confidants known as "The Memphis Mafia" commemorate the 20th anniversary of the King's passing with a webcast interview. - Massive explosions at a propane facility just before 4 a.m. erupt in the Toronto, Canada community of Downsview, resulting in the evacuation of thousands of people. The explosions also caused the closure of Highway 401, North America's busiest highway, through that area of Toronto. 1929 - Babe Ruth becomes the first baseball player to hit 500 home runs in his career with a home run at League Park in Cleveland, Ohio.
1968 - The last steam passenger train service runs in Britain. A selection of British Rail steam locomotives make the 120-mile journey from Liverpool to Carlisle and returns to Liverpool before having their fires dropped for the last time - this working was known as the Fifteen Guinea Special.
