Good January 9th,
It's a beautiful Day here in Annapolis Royal. Hope the day is just as fantastic in your part of the country. Some birthdays today in the music industry include Zep's own Jimmy Page, also Dave Matthews, Crystal Gayle, David Johansen and Joan Baez's birthdays. We have a complete list attached to this blog. This was also the day that Johann Stauss passed away in 1939. For the history buffs who come here, this is what went on on this day in:
1965 - "Beatles' '65" album goes #1 & stays #1 for 9 weeks
1976 - CW McCall CB song "Convoy" hit #1 on the country music charts
1987 - Sir Rudolph Bing (of NY Met Opera) marries Lady Carroll Douglass
2001 - Apple announced iTunes at the Macworld Expo in San Francisco, for organizing and playing digital music and videos. Now widely used by Windows and Mac users.
2002 - Michael Jackson receives the Artist of the Century award at the American music awards.
Some interesting stuff went down today eh? iTunes was announced in 2001. What a difference that little announcement made to the industry.
Stay tuned in right here for a bunch of new stuff to hit our site. We're gonna start loading it on today - Capos, Humidifiers (which we all need at this time of year), pegwinders, tuners, cables and much more. We are still going to be Canada's best site to order instrument strings from and our catalogue is going to get bigger. guitar, bass, mandolin, violin strings and more.
Have a great day.
